REASONS FOR SOMEONE WANTING TO SEE A
COUNSELOR – THERAPIST- PSYCHOANALYST?
Counseling or Therapy can be described as a journey of discovery.

It is a journey in which you and the therapist can journey together to find solutions to problems, or equally important, gain insight into yourself. The following are examples of the types of problems and issues that people bring
to a therapist.

  • I am depressed

  • I feel anxious

  • I have an anger problem

  • I don't feel good about myself

  • I don't relate well to others

  • I am a victim of child abuse

  • My marriage is not going well
  • I am not happy with my life
  • I am having night-mares
  • Life feels meaningless
  • I have religious questions and doubts
  • What role do dreams play in life

It should be understood that no list is complete, but a good rule to follow is that any feeling that brings about a sense of uneasiness or is causing distress can be brought to a therapist.
